This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App") and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Services.

We collect information that identifies, relates to, describes, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with you ("Personal Data").
A. Information You Provide to Us
Account Data: Name, email address, password, sport, team/organization affiliation, and age. User Content (Journaling & Check-ins): Text entries, voice notes, mood ratings, and responses to prompts. Note: We use Natural Language Processing (NLP) to analyze this content. Support Data: Information you provide when you contact us for help.
B. Information Collected Automatically
Usage Data: How you interact with the App (features used, time spent, click streams). Device Data: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers (IDFA or Android ID), and IP address.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data for the following purposes:
A. To Provide the Service
To create and manage your account. To deliver AI-generated insights, "mental biotypes," and performance feedback. To process payments (via third-party processors like Apple/Google).
B. For Research & AI Development (Crucial for "Lexical Phenotyping")De-Identification: We may strip your Personal Data of all direct identifiers (like name and email) to create "De-Identified Data."Academic & Scientific Research: We use De-Identified Data to conduct research on athlete mental performance, including the identification of lexical phenotypes (language patterns correlated with performance states). This research may be published in academic journals or white papers. AI Training: We use De-Identified Data to train and improve our machine learning models to provide better insights to future users.
C. Communication
To send you administrative information (updates to terms, security alerts). To send marketing communications (if you have opted in).
4. HIPAA & Health Data Disclaimer
AthletesTogether Inc. is NOT a healthcare provider or a "covered entity" under the US Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). The App is a mental performance and wellness tool, not a medical device. The data you provide is not considered "Protected Health Information" (PHI) under HIPAA. However, we treat your mental wellness data with the highest level of sensitivity and security.
5. Disclosure of Your Information
We do not sell your Personal Data. We may share information in the following situations: Service Providers: With third-party vendors who perform services for us (e.g., cloud hosting via AWS/Google Cloud, analytics providers, customer support tools). They are contractually obligated to protect your data. Enterprise/Team Accounts: If your account is provided by a team or university, we may share aggregated, anonymized team-level reports with them. We do NOT share your private journal entries with your coaches or administrators. Legal Requirements: If required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency). Business Transfers: In connection with any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business.
6. International Data Transfers
AthletesTogether Inc. is based in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the US, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located. For Australian Users: We take reasonable steps to ensure that overseas recipients of your personal information do not breach the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in relation to the information. For Canadian Users: Your information may be subject to access by US law enforcement under US legislation (e.g., the Patriot Act).

While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

Our Services are not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information.
